Wayne High School is pleased to announce that Mrs. Linda Lusher, Health Occupations instructor and HOSA advisor, has been awarded a modernization grant in the sum of $8,000.00.  The funds will be used to update and upgrade various pieces of Health Occupations equipment and technology upgrades.  Congratulations to Mrs. Lusher  and her students!

Football season is officially here!  Wayne defeated Mount View last weekend with a 40-6 victory, and Wayne's junior varsity team won their game against Spring Valley last night.  We will have a pep rally this Friday afternoon, beginning at 2:44 PM.  Come on out and support your Pioneers!  See you at the game!

Wayne High School students will return to school Monday, August 27.  School will be in session from 7:45 AM-3:08 PM, and we will operate our lunch on a double-lunch schedule.  See you all on Monday!  Welcome back, Pioneers!

We at Wayne High School are pleased to announce that Mr. Mark Ross has received a $20,000.00 grant for his excellent Graphic Arts department.  The money will be used to purchase a new printing press and to further train students in 21st Century Learning Skills.  Mr. Ross's students participate annually in the SkillsUSA conference, and this year will certainly be no different.  Congratulations, Mr. Ross, and a job well done!

The golf team will play on August 14, 2007, against Chesapeake.  They will be playing at Esquire at 4:00 PM.  If anyone has any pictures of this year's team, such as a team picture, or if anyone would like to see their action shots posted on our web site, please forward these pictures to our webmaster.  Click the CONTACT US link to do so.  Please include your name so that we may give you credit for your work. 

Meet the Pioneers will be held on August 10 at 7:30 PM on Pioneer Field.  We still have Championship gear available for sale, but if you want it, you need to hurry, as supplies are limited.  There will be a scrimmage game against Lincoln County the following evening, August 11, at 7:00 PM.  We hope everyone can come out and support their Pioneers!  See you at the games!
