Congratulations, Pioneer Football Team!
The football team won their season home opener against Chesapeake last night, with a final score of 39-21.  This was Coach Harmon's 103rd win, and the team's first win of the season!  Congratulations, gentlemen!  See you at the next game against James Monroe!  GO PIONEERS!

Chartered Bus to James Monroe Game
Interested in seeing the James Monroe game, but gas prices  have dampened your Pioneer spirit to do so?  Despair not!  There will be a chartered bus leaving Wayne High School on FRIDAY, September 5, at 2:00 PM.  The bus will return immediately after the game.  Seats are $30, tickets sold separately.  Please also consider costs for refreshments.  You must pay for your seat at the time you sign up.  Seats are limited, so hurry!  Hope to see you at the game!  GO PIONEERS!

Football Season Kicks Off Friday!
Football tickets will be sold during both lunches this FRIDAY, AUGUST 29, for the first game against Chesapeake at Wayne.  Kick-off is 7:30 PM on Friday.  Student tickets are $4.00.  Adult tickets are $5.00.  If you want to purchase your tickets at the gate, all gate tickets are $5.00.  See you at the game!  GO PIONEERS!

Parking Permits
Students, if you intend to drive to school this year, you need to purchase a parking permit.  All parking permits will be sold during both lunches.  Parking permits cost $15.  You need to purchase these before the end of next week.  Please stop by the office for more information.

Senior Pictures

Due to a power outage at Wayne High School, Senior Pictures have been rescheduled for FRIDAY, AUGUST 22, beginning at 7:00 AM.  Yes, you read that right, 7:00 AM.  Seniors should be receiving new appointment cards in the mail shortly.  If you haven't had your senior pictures done yet, come on out to the school on Friday, August 22.  You only get one senior year.  Let's make it a great one, beginning with your senior pictures!

Congratulations, Mrs. Stapleton!
The Wayne High Pioneers are pleased to announce that Mrs. Sara Stapleton will be replacing Dr. Kevin Smith as principal at Wayne High School.  She was an assistant principal at Wayne High School last year.  Congratulations, Mrs. Stapleton!

The Wayne High Pioneers would like to congratulate Dr. Kevin Smith on his new position at Wayne County Board of Education.  He will be an advisor to Wayne County secondary schools.  Though he was an excellent principal who will be greatly missed, we wish him the best of luck in his new position!
