Wayne Defeats Bluefield
The Pioneers defeated Bluefield last night with a 41-35 victory!  We will travel next weekend (yes, you read that correctly, folks, we will TRAVEL) to play Number 2-ranked Grafton, at Grafton.  We'll post details to this blog as they become available to us in regard to time, cost, and weather conditions.  Congratulations, gentlemen, we're bursting with pride!  GO PIONEERS!

2009 Yearbooks on Sale Now
The 2009 Pioneer Yearbook is on sale!  If you want a plain yearbook, they cost $50.  A yearbook with a namestamp costs $55.  A $25 down payment is required, unless you would like to pay in full at the time of purchase.  Please make all checks payable to Wayne High School, and mail them to the school in care of Ruby Dyer.  As previously mentioned in an earlier blog post, we have several copies of old yearbooks from past years on sale for $30 each.  Don't let those high school memories fade away!  How else will your children and grandchildren know how wonderful you looked as a teenager if you don't buy a yearbook!  Buy yours today!

Pioneers Defeat Shady Spring
The Wayne Pioneer football team defeated Shady Spring at Pioneer Field last night!  GO PIONEERS!  We will now take on Bluefield next week.  Game time will be announced later!  Congratulations, gentlemen!  GO PIONEERS!

Volleyball Update
The Lady Pioneers will take on James Monroe High School this FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14, at the Charleston Civic Center at 2:30 PM.  There will be a fan bus going and tickets are still $7.00.  See the Lady Pioneers in the afternoon, come out and see the football team the same night at 7:30 PM on Pioneer Field!  Either way, come on out and cheer on the Pioneers!

Football Fridays Continue
We are proud to announce that the Wayne High School football team wrapped up another stellar season (9-1) this past Friday, defeating Logan, and will host the first play-off game against Shady Spring this Friday, November 14, at 7:30 PM.   Congratulations, gentlemen, we're proud of you!  Come on out and support your Pioneers!

Volleyball Regional AA Champs!
It is with great pride that we would like to congratulate our girls' volleyball team for winning the State Regional Championships in Class AA this past weekend!  The Lady Pioneers took on Sissonville in the first game and Herbert Hoover in the second game.  They will play this coming Friday.  We will announce game times and places as they become available to us.  There will be a fan bus available.  The cost for the bus is $3-$5, and the cost of the ticket (available at the gate) will be $7.  Congratulations, ladies!  We're proud of you!  GO PIONEERS!

2008 AA Volleyball Sectionals CHAMPS!

We are proud to announce that the Wayne High School Volleyball Team are the 2008 AA Sectionals CHAMPS!  They defeated Tug Valley and Tolsia Thursday night, and they will now play in the regional game on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Sissonville, against Sissonville.  Come on out and support the Lady Pioneers!  Way to go, ladies!  We are incredibly proud of you!  GO PIONEERS!

Yearbooks On Sale!
Thw Wayne High School Yearbook staff has extra yearbooks on sale from previous school years.  Yes, you read that right, we have extras on sale!  The price for old yearbooks is $30.00.  Missing a year?  Didn't buy one your freshman year?  Looking for your friends from your graduation class, but you "misplaced" your original senior yearbook?  We may have exactly what you need!  Call Wayne High School at 272-5639 and ask to speak to someone in the yearbook department.  Of course, we have this year's yearbook on sale, too!  A 2009 yearbook costs $50.00.  Stop by Wayne High School to pay for yours and maybe find that missing back copy today!

Volleyball Sectional Games
Woo-hoo!  Our girls are going to SECTIONALS!  Come on out and see the sectionals tournament, being held at Wayne High School on Wednesday, November 5, and Thursday, November 6.  Wayne will host games between Sherman, Tug Valley, Tolsia, and Mt. View on Wednesday, and Wayne will play two games on Thursday.  The sectional winner and runner-up teams will play at Sissonville on Saturday, November 8, at 10:00 AM.  Come on out to watch the games on Wednesday, and come out THURSDAY to SUPPORT THE LADY PIONEERS!
